Position Overview: As a Speech-Language Pathologist you will play a crucial role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with communication and swallowing disorders. You will work closely with patients of all ages, from children to elderly adults, providing personalized therapy plans to help them achieve optimal communication and swallowing function. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough evaluations of patients to assess speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and patient goals.
- Provide therapy services in accordance with state licensure requirements and professional standards.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Educate patients and their families on communication strategies and techniques to improve functional outcomes.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of treatment sessions.
- Stay updated on advancements in the field of speech-language pathology and participate in continuing education opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), or eligibility to obtain CCC-SLP.
- Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of Florida.
- Experience working with pediatric and/or adult populations preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Commitment to providing compassionate care and advocacy for patients.
