Position Overview: The Behavioral Health Counselor will provide a range of mental health services, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and support for individuals facing behavioral health challenges. This role emphasizes culturally competent care, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and community outreach to promote mental health awareness and resources.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive behavioral health assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide direct therapeutic services, including individual therapy, crisis intervention, and psychoeducation.
  • Collaborate with primary care providers and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and support.
  • Facilitate referrals to appropriate community resources and services.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in case consultations, staff meetings, and ongoing training to enhance clinical skills.
  • Engage in community outreach and education to reduce stigma and promote mental health resources.
  • Stay informed about best practices in behavioral health and emerging trends in the field.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field.
  • Valid California license (LCSW, LMFT, or equivalent).
  • Experience working in a community health or clinical setting preferred.
  • Strong understanding of behavioral health issues and cultural competency.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Bilingual skills (Spanish or other languages) are a plus.

Position Highlights/Compensation:


  • Flexible Hybrid Schedule :32 hour work week, no weekends or on-call
  • Competitive salary: $97,760 to 128,960 annually commensurate with experience and internal equity
