Respiratory Therapist

Practice Details
- 25-bed Critical Access Hospital with a dedicated respiratory therapy department.
- Services include cardiopulmonary treatments, pulmonary function testing, stress tests, and sleep studies across inpatient, outpatient, nursing home, and emergency room settings.
- The Respiratory Therapist will provide care from newborn to geriatric patients, typically seeing 8-10 patients daily.
- Responsibilities include scheduling and managing their patient load and performing clerical tasks.
- Daily morning rounds may involve nursing home visits, and the team includes Department Head, three full-time Respiratory Therapists, and one on-call therapist.
Work Schedule
- Rotational 40-hour workweek (4 days per week).
- Week 1: Monday-Thursday
- Week 2: Tuesday-Friday
- Week 3: On-call week (typically Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday).
- On-call shifts:
- Monday 4:30 PM to the following Monday at 6:30 AM.
- Wednesdays off, with on-call coverage starting at 4:30 PM.
- Weekend coverage begins Friday at 4:30 PM through Monday at 6:30 AM.
- On-call expectation: 1-2 calls per week (typically handled virtually).
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive salary + $10,000 signing bonus.
- On-call stipend of $500 with time-and-a-half call-back pay.
- Student loan repayment through NHSC and eligibility for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF).

- PTO: 20 hours front-loaded with 21 days total accrual annually, plus 6 holidays.
- CE hours: 16 hours accrued after 6 months.
- Well-U day added to PTO after each fiscal year.
Qualifications
- Must hold or be eligible for an Iowa CRT or RRT license.
- Open to candidates of all experience levels.
- Ideal candidates will be adaptable, teachable, and open-minded.
