Job Description: Radiology Technologist

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Radiology Technologist to join our healthcare team. As a Radiology Technologist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. You will work with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure the accurate and safe use of imaging technologies while providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures, including X-rays, fluoroscopy, and other radiologic exams, according to physician orders and safety protocols.
  • Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process.
  • Operate radiologic equipment, ensuring accurate positioning, settings, and image quality for diagnostic purposes.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and imaging data in the electronic medical record system, ensuring confidentiality.
  • Ensure proper safety protocols are followed, including radiation safety standards, to protect patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Collaborate with radiologists to discuss imaging results and assist with the interpretation of images when necessary.
  • Clean, maintain, and perform routine checks on radiology equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and ensure a safe and sterile environment for patients and staff.
  • Stay current with advancements in radiology technologies, imaging techniques, and safety procedures through ongoing education and professional development.

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent certification.
  • Current state licensure (if applicable).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Strong knowledge of radiologic imaging techniques, radiation safety, and patient care.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow specific imaging protocols.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Radiology Technologist in a clinical or hospital setting.
  • Knowledge of advanced imaging technologies such as digital radiography (DR), computed tomography (CT), or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
  • Additional certifications or training in specialized radiologic areas (e.g., mammography, fluoroscopy, or bone densitometry).
