Hiring a full-time Radiation Therapist for permanent hire with a top healthcare facility in South Florida! Position is fully benefited with a sign-on bonus.
Position Summary:
We are looking for a dedicated Radiation Therapist to join our Radiation Oncology team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality radiation treatments to cancer patients, ensuring safe and accurate administration, and providing compassionate care throughout the treatment process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer external beam radiation therapy as prescribed by the radiation oncologist.
- Set up and position patients accurately, utilizing appropriate techniques and imaging for precise treatment delivery.
- Operate and maintain radiation therapy equipment, ensuring that it is functioning correctly and safely.
- Collaborate with oncologists, physicists, and other healthcare professionals to plan and modify treatment plans.
- Monitor and assess patients for any side effects or complications and provide appropriate support.
- Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of treatment records, including daily treatments and patient responses.
- Educate patients on the treatment process, potential side effects, and provide emotional support throughout their therapy.
- Adhere to safety protocols, including radiation protection standards, to minimize exposure to staff and patients.
- Participate in regular quality assurance checks to ensure equipment and processes meet required standards.
- Attend team meetings and assist in case reviews when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Completion of an accredited Radiation Therapy program.
- Certification:
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification in Radiation Therapy.
- State licensure as required.
- Experience:
- Previous experience in radiation therapy preferred.
