Job Responsibilities of the Mammography Tech:

• Patient preparation: Preparing patients for the scan and ensuring they are positioned correctly to minimize radiation exposure
• Equipment operation: Using sophisticated radiographic equipment
• Patient positioning: Positioning and immobilizing patients to obtain accurate images
• Image quality: Evaluating images for technical quality and accurate positioning
• Patient history: Obtaining patient history and documenting findings
• Quality control: Performing quality control for mammographic equipment
• Radiation protection: Making sure that patients and staff are exposed to as little radiation as possible
• Safety regulations: Following established protocols and safety regulations
• Patient privacy: Maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality

Minimum Job Requirements as the Mammography Tech

• One year of experience as a Rad Tech or seeking to gain experience within the Mammography field.
• Graduate of ARRT approved Radiology program
• Willing to obtain ARRT (M) Certification
• BLS Certification
