Key Responsibilities:
- Perform CT scans and diagnostic imaging procedures according to physician orders.
- Prepare patients for CT procedures by explaining the process, positioning them correctly, and ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Operate CT scanners, monitor patients during imaging procedures, and adjust settings to obtain the highest quality images.
- Ensure that all images are of diagnostic quality and are processed according to department protocols.
- Review patient history and medical records to assess for any contraindications to the procedure (e.g., allergies to contrast materials).
- Administer contrast agents as needed, following established protocols and safety guidelines.
- Document and maintain accurate patient records, including images and procedure notes.
- Ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness of CT equipment and imaging rooms.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including radiation safety standards, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations (e.g., HIPAA, ACR, and state/federal guidelines).
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare providers to ensure timely and accurate diagnostic results.
- Participate in quality control, quality assurance, and departmental meetings as required.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of CT imaging technologies and techniques.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Completion of a formal Radiologic Technology program accredited by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent.
- Certification:
- Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT) certification by ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists).
- CT certification (ARRT-CT) required or must be obtained within a specified time after hire.
- Experience:
- At least 1–2 years of experience as a CT Technologist preferred.
- Experience with advanced CT imaging techniques, such as 3D imaging, angiography, or cardiac CT, is a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of CT scanning procedures, anatomy, and radiologic technology.
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot CT imaging equipment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient interaction.
- Attention to detail, ability to follow protocols, and ensure accurate imaging results.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities.
