Job Summary:
As a PRN Physical Therapist Assistant, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to implement treatment plans, assist patients in their rehabilitation journey, and promote recovery and mobility. This is a flexible, as-needed position that may require varying hours, including evenings and weekends.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the implementation of individualized treatment plans developed by the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Provide hands-on patient care, including therapeutic exercises, modalities, and functional training.
- Monitor and document patient progress and response to treatment, communicating any changes to the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Educate patients and their families on treatment protocols, exercises, and strategies for maximizing recovery.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of clinical practices.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Physical Therapist Assistant program from an accredited institution.
- Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a PTA in Alabama.
- Previous experience in a clinical setting preferred, but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and their families.
- Basic computer skills for documentation and communication purposes.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work varying hours and adapt to changing patient needs.
