Chief of Pediatric Perfusion

Palm Health Resources is partnering with a leading academic medical center in Ohio to find a highly experienced and passionate Chief of Pediatric Perfusion. This role is perfect for someone with a strong background in pediatric cardiac perfusion and leadership experience. We are looking for a candidate who has a proven, stable work history in similar environments and is ready to take on a significant leadership role. Pediatric perfusion leadership experience is preferred, and candidates should have a commitment to long-term engagement with the institution.

As the Chief of Pediatric Perfusion, you will lead a team responsible for managing complex congenital heart disease surgeries, primarily in pediatric patients, but also including adult congenital cases. Expertise with advanced technologies such as Heartmate 3, Centrimag, Pmag, and ECMO (Cardiohelp) is required. You will also oversee procedures related to heart and lung transplants, as well as liver bypass transplants involving cellsaver technology.

You will lead the troubleshooting, weaning, decannulation, and morning/weekend rounds as part of the broader ECMO coordination team.

Team Structure:

• Lead a team of 5 skilled perfusionists
  

Call Rotation & Responsibilities:
The team of 6 perfusionists operates on a rotating call schedule, with each on call every third day. As Chief, you will mentor junior perfusionists, take part in academic presentations, and have opportunities for research and writing in this prestigious teaching institution.

There are multiple opportunities for involvement in research, particularly in pediatric perfusion, but participation is optional. Those with a passion for advancing the field through research are encouraged to take advantage of the resources available at this academic institution.

Compensation & Onboarding:
This leadership role offers a highly competitive salary with the potential for a 12% annual bonus based on hospital and individual performance metrics. A comprehensive 6-month onboarding program ensures a smooth transition into the team and leadership role.
