(Archived) Optometrist Needed in Tri-Cities, TN (TN or VA Licensed Considered)

Our client in the Tri-Cities area of Tennessee (Kingsport, Johnson City, and Bristol) is seeking a full-time Licensed Optometrist for a full time locums assignment with possibility to extend.

Duties & Responsibilities for the Optometrist include:

• Coverage Dates (Specific, long term only): ASAP – ongoing, with good possibility of extension
• Shift Schedule Details & Shift Duration: Monday – Friday – 7 hour days
• Treating corneal ulcers and uveitis
• Diagnosing diabetic and hypertensive retinopathy
• Removal of foreign bodies
• Diagnosing macular disease, retinal holes, and retinal detachments
• Coordinates and makes recommendations to physicians and other providers.
• Formulates and/or implements a treatment plan to address deficits and patient/family areas of concern.
• Provides education/consultation to patient, family and health care team
• Obtaining complete medical history and writing reports
• In addition to professional responsibilities, the Optometrist will be part of a team engaging in marketing outreach and growing positive relationships with colleagues, vendors, fellow healthcare practitioners, and community organizations

Requirements include:

• Active State License Required (Virginia or Tennesse)
• Doctor of Optometry Degree (OD) from an Accredited School of Optometry

Salary & Benefits

• Rate: $85/HR
• Malpractice, travel provided (if applicable)
