We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with licensed Physical Therapists to implement treatment plans, assist patients with therapeutic exercises, and provide support throughout the rehabilitation process. Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Physical Therapists to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients based on their specific needs and goals.
- Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, activities, and modalities as prescribed by the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Monitor patients' progress during therapy sessions, making note of any changes or improvements in mobility, strength, or function.
- Educate patients and their families on proper techniques for exercises and activities to promote optimal recovery and prevent injury.
- Provide feedback to the supervising Physical Therapist regarding patients' responses to treatment and any concerns or observations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient care activities, including progress notes, treatment plans, and billing information.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, policies, and procedures related to patient care and documentation.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as nurses, physicians, and occupational therapists, to coordinate patient care and achieve desired outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Valid licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of Alabama.
- CPR certification required.
- Prior experience in a healthcare or rehabilitation setting preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and their families.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and collaborate with other healthcare professionals.
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills for maintaining accurate patient records.
