Job Description
We are seeking a motivated PRN Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our dynamic team on an as-needed basis. This position offers flexibility and the opportunity to collaborate with a skilled interdisciplinary team to deliver personalized and effective occupational therapy services across various clinical settings.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' functional abilities, including activities of daily living (ADLs), fine motor skills, cognitive function, and psychosocial needs.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and in collaboration with patients, caregivers, and healthcare team members.
- Implement evidence-based occupational therapy interventions aimed at enhancing patients' independence, mobility, and overall quality of life.
- Provide therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, adaptive equipment training, and environmental modifications as part of treatment plans.
- Monitor and evaluate patient progress, adjusting treatment strategies as needed to achieve therapeutic goals and optimize outcomes.
- Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic techniques, safety practices, and home exercise programs to support continuity of care and promote long-term wellness.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries in compliance with regulatory standards and facility policies.
Requirements:
- Master's degree or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Alabama.
- CPR certification (BLS).
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of occupational therapy principles, practices, and techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Ability to prioritize workload and work independently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working as an Occupational Therapist in a healthcare setting, preferably in rehabilitation, acute care, or outpatient services.
- Specialized training or certifications in areas such as hand therapy, neurorehabilitation, pediatrics, or geriatrics.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and documentation practices.
