Job Title: Microbiology Specialist – Day Shift (Weekend/Holiday Rotation)

Location: Near Abington, MA

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Microbiology Specialist to join our team on the day shift with a weekend and holiday rotation. In this role, you will perform microbiological analyses, interpret test results, and contribute to critical diagnostic decisions. The position requires 80 hours per pay period and participation in a rotating weekend and holiday schedule.

Responsibilities:

• Perform microbiological testing, including cultures, sensitivities, and other diagnostic assays
• Interpret test results and communicate findings to healthcare providers
• Maintain and troubleshoot microbiology laboratory equipment
• Ensure adherence to quality control, safety, and regulatory guidelines
• Collaborate with other laboratory and healthcare professionals to support patient care

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology, or related field
• Certification as a Microbiology Specialist (ASCP or equivalent) preferred or ASCP Generalist with micro experience
• Experience in microbiology lab work with expertise in bacterial, viral, and fungal identification
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with flexibility for weekend and holiday shifts
