Apply for this full-time position as a Laboratory Supervisor in New Haven, Connecticut. Position is Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm.

Position Overview:
The Laboratory Supervisor, in collaboration with the Laboratory Director and Manager, ensures the smooth operation of clinical and research labs, maintaining adherence to protocols and standards. This role involves overseeing daily laboratory functions, managing staff, coordinating workflows, maintaining quality control, and providing guidance to lab personnel. The supervisor ensures accurate sample handling, experiment execution, and proper data storage to support scientific research and analysis.

Responsibilities:

  • Mastery of Senior Medical Technologist duties.
  • Oversee daily lab operations to ensure safety and quality standards.
  • Manage sample accessioning, storage, and identification, and ensure proper data filing.
  • Review reports for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead special projects to improve lab capabilities, like LIMS implementation and new testing methods.
  • Manage and train lab personnel, ensuring competency and compliance.
  • Maintain equipment, troubleshoot technical issues, and oversee general lab housekeeping.
  • Support research projects, prioritize tasks, and coordinate with research partners.
  • Assist the Laboratory Manager in process improvement, inventory management, and maintaining procedural manuals.

Qualifications and Experience

A degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology

At least 1 year of high-complexity testing experience, or 2 years of laboratory training/experience in high-complexity testing.
