Job Title: Hematology Technician/Technologist

Location: Nashville, TN
Job Type: Full-Time
Shifts:

  • Wednesday & Thursday: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (8 hours)

  • Friday & Saturday: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM (12 hours)

  • Saturday shift must end at 7:30 PM.

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Hematology Technician/Technologist to join our team in Nashville, TN. This role will be responsible for performing a variety of hematology tests and procedures, ensuring accurate results for patient diagnoses. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, knowledgeable in laboratory practices, and committed to high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform hematology tests, including CBCs, coagulation studies, and hemoglobin electrophoresis.

  • Operate laboratory equipment, including automated analyzers for hematology testing.

  • Accurately record and document test results in the laboratory information system.

  • Ensure quality control procedures are followed and maintain the integrity of patient samples.

  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment.

  • Follow laboratory safety protocols and ensure compliance with regulatory standards (CLIA, CAP).

  • Assist with inventory management and ensure all hematology supplies are stocked and ready for use.

  • Provide support to laboratory staff and collaborate with physicians and healthcare providers.

Qualifications:

Education & Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Hematology, or related field.

  • Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT) by ASCP or similar.

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification preferred.

Experience:

  • 1-3 years of experience in a hematology laboratory preferred.

  • Familiarity with hematology testing procedures, including CBC analysis, coagulation testing, and blood smear examination.

  • Knowledge of laboratory quality control and safety protocols.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Shifts & Work Schedule:

  • Wednesday & Thursday: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (8 hours)

  • Friday & Saturday: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM (12 hours)

  • Saturday shift must end at 7:30 PM.
