Hematology Medical Technologist/Medical Lab Technician
Location: Killington, VT
Job Type: Full-time / Part-time
Pay Range: $27.86 - $41.19 per hour
Shift: Night Shift (8:45 PM – 6:45 AM, 4 days per week with rotating weekends)
Shift Differentials:
- Evening: +$4.25/hr
- Weekend: +$4.75/hr
- Night: +$8.00/hr
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Medical Technologist (MT) / Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) specializing in Hematology to join our healthcare team in Killington, VT. The ideal candidate will perform critical laboratory tests to diagnose and monitor hematological disorders, ensuring accurate and timely results that contribute to patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform hematology tests, including complete blood counts (CBC), coagulation studies, and peripheral blood smear evaluations.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments related to hematology and coagulation analysis.
- Analyze blood samples for abnormalities, including anemia, infections, clotting disorders, and leukemia.
- Ensure quality control, proficiency testing, and compliance with laboratory protocols.
- Accurately document and report test results to physicians and healthcare providers.
- Maintain a sterile and safe working environment, following all lab safety procedures.
- Collaborate with a team of medical professionals to ensure the highest level of patient care.
Qualifications:
- For Medical Technologist (MT): Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field. ASCP or AMT certification preferred.
- For Medical Lab Technician (MLT): Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field. ASCP or AMT certification preferred.
- Experience in hematology laboratory testing is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
