Job Title: Director of Lab Services
Location: Burlington, ND (Multiple Locations)
Position Type: Permanent, Exempt, Full-Time (Monday-Friday, On-Call 24/7)
Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic individual to fill the role of Director of Lab Services. This position will oversee the laboratory operations across multiple locations in Burlington, ND, and lead a team of approximately 7 supervisors. The Director will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and effective management of laboratory services, ensuring the highest standards of quality, compliance, and patient care. This is a leadership role requiring a strategic thinker who thrives in a fast-paced, healthcare-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of all laboratory services across multiple locations, ensuring optimal functioning, quality control, and regulatory compliance.
- Lead and manage a team of 7 laboratory supervisors, providing mentorship, guidance, and performance evaluation.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure quality assurance, safety, and best practices in lab operations.
- Collaborate with senior leadership, physicians, and other healthcare providers to align laboratory services with organizational goals and patient care initiatives.
- Manage laboratory budgets, resources, and staffing to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the lab to enhance workflow, patient satisfaction, and operational performance.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as accreditation standards (e.g., CLIA, CAP).
- Be available on-call 24/7 to address any urgent issues or emergencies in laboratory operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Certified Medical Technologist (MT), Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), or similar certification required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in laboratory management or leadership, including experience in managing supervisors or department heads.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory operations, regulations, and best practices.
- Proven leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and retain top talent.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams in a healthcare setting.
Salary & Benefits:
- Competitive salary based on experience, in the range of $140,000 – $180,000.
