Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) / Medical Technologist (MT) / Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS)
Position Type: Full-Time

Location: Bethel, AK

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), Medical Technologist (MT), or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) to join our full-time team in Bethel, AK. The ideal candidate will have the expertise to perform a wide range of laboratory procedures across all areas. As a generalist, you will play a critical role in supporting diagnostic and patient care teams by providing accurate and timely laboratory results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform laboratory tests across various departments, including hematology, microbiology, clinical chemistry, immunology, and blood banking.
  • Accurately analyze samples and interpret results in accordance with established procedures.
  • Ensure proper specimen collection, handling, and preparation.
  • Follow laboratory protocols to maintain safety and quality control standards.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, performing regular checks and calibration as needed.
  • Document and report results accurately using laboratory information systems.
  • Participate in proficiency testing, quality assurance, and laboratory audits.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.
  • Work collaboratively with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare providers to deliver high-quality patient care.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education/Certifications:
    • ASCP Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), Medical Technologist (MT), or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS)
    • Associate’s Degree (AS) or higher in a relevant laboratory science field.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 1 year of clinical laboratory experience
  • Skills/Competencies:
    • Strong knowledge of laboratory testing procedures and equipment
    • Attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to perform well in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in multiple laboratory disciplines (generalist)
  • Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS)
