Location: 25-bed hospital with 24/7 lab services
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Laboratory Manager to lead our full-service laboratory, which includes blood banking and the outsourcing of some work to Labcorp and Quest. The Laboratory Manager will supervise a team of 10 Full-Time Employees (FTEs) and one supervisor, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the laboratory while maintaining high standards of quality and patient care. The ideal candidate will have strong people management and leadership skills, with a proven track record in managing day-to-day laboratory operations in a clinical setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage a team of laboratory staff, including 10 FTEs and 1 supervisor.
- Ensure day-to-day laboratory operations are efficient, accurate, and compliant with regulatory standards.
- Foster positive working relationships with employees, promoting teamwork and maintaining high staff morale.
- Oversee laboratory processes, including blood banking and outsourced work to Labcorp and Quest.
- Monitor and maintain staffing levels, schedules, and workflow to ensure optimal lab performance.
- Address any personnel or operational issues, providing coaching and development opportunities for staff.
- Ensure the laboratory meets all regulatory requirements and quality standards.
- Act as a liaison between laboratory staff, hospital administration, and external partners.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- New York State Laboratory License is required.
- Previous experience managing people and supervising laboratory operations.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively manage and motivate laboratory staff.
- Experience in a full-service laboratory, with knowledge of blood banking and outsourced laboratory services.

- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience working in a hospital or healthcare laboratory setting.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Salary and Benefits:
- Salary: Up to $120,000 per year, depending on experience.
