Lead Histotechnologist or Histotechnician

NEW Permanent Lead Histotech Opening – San Diego, California

• Permanent full-time position
• Responsibilities are receiving, processing, and preparing patient tissue specimens for microscopic examination by the pathologist. This may include cutting, sample capture, sample return, mounting and staining procedures. Responsibilities include all aspects of microtomy; ensuring compliance with state and national regulatory agencies; and interfacing with other departments including laboratory, pre-analytical and the pathologist. Assist with administrative duties as assigned.
• Shift: Tuesday-Saturday 12:00 pm - 8:30 pm
• Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree and Certification: HT (ASCP) or HTL (ASCP) required.
  • 6+ years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting, preferably in molecular diagnostics.
  • Ability to rapidly cut and mount high quality tissue sections from a variety of tissue types, including needle biopsies.
  • Maintains continuing education units required by California Department of Health Services.
  • Experience with all major brands of histology equipment.
• Pay Range: $30-$45/hr
