Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Mammography Technologist to join our radiology team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing mammograms, ensuring high-quality imaging, and providing excellent patient care throughout the process. This role requires a deep knowledge of mammography procedures, safety protocols, and radiologic technology, as well as the ability to provide a supportive and comfortable environment for patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform mammography procedures for patients, ensuring high-quality imaging in accordance with clinical protocols.
  • Position patients correctly for imaging, ensuring comfort and safety throughout the procedure.
  • Operate and maintain mammography equipment, ensuring all devices are calibrated and functioning properly.
  • Review and verify images for quality, clarity, and completeness.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, explaining the procedure and answering any questions or concerns.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other privacy standards.
  • Assist in the preparation of patients for additional diagnostic procedures, if needed.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines, including radiation protection standards for both patients and staff.
  • Participate in quality assurance and quality control activities, ensuring equipment is functioning properly and meeting regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare providers to ensure accurate and timely reporting of results.
  • Stay current on advances in mammography technology and techniques.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology or related field.
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Mammography.
  • Current state licensure as a Radiologic Technologist.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in mammography preferred, but new graduates with the required certifications are welcome to apply.
  • Knowledge of mammography procedures, positioning, and radiation safety protocols.
  • Ability to work with a diverse patient population and provide compassionate care.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
