Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Mammography Technologist to join our radiology team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing mammograms, ensuring high-quality imaging, and providing excellent patient care throughout the process. This role requires a deep knowledge of mammography procedures, safety protocols, and radiologic technology, as well as the ability to provide a supportive and comfortable environment for patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform mammography procedures for patients, ensuring high-quality imaging in accordance with clinical protocols.
- Position patients correctly for imaging, ensuring comfort and safety throughout the procedure.
- Operate and maintain mammography equipment, ensuring all devices are calibrated and functioning properly.
- Review and verify images for quality, clarity, and completeness.
- Communicate effectively with patients, explaining the procedure and answering any questions or concerns.
- Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other privacy standards.
- Assist in the preparation of patients for additional diagnostic procedures, if needed.
- Adhere to safety guidelines, including radiation protection standards for both patients and staff.
- Participate in quality assurance and quality control activities, ensuring equipment is functioning properly and meeting regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare providers to ensure accurate and timely reporting of results.
- Stay current on advances in mammography technology and techniques.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology or related field.
- Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Mammography.
- Current state licensure as a Radiologic Technologist.
- At least 1-2 years of experience in mammography preferred, but new graduates with the required certifications are welcome to apply.
- Knowledge of mammography procedures, positioning, and radiation safety protocols.
- Ability to work with a diverse patient population and provide compassionate care.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
